Platform exists to give the UK arts workforce a safe, honest, anonymous voice. These terms protect that voice and the people and organisations it describes.
1. About Platform
Platform is an independent review space for people working in the UK arts and entertainment industry to share anonymous, honest feedback about their experiences at theatres, companies and venues. Platform is a community resource, not a regulator, employer representative, or trade body.
2. Who can post
Anyone with first-hand professional or paid experience at the venue or company being reviewed may post. By posting you confirm the review reflects your genuine personal experience. You must not post on behalf of others, and you must not post about a place you have not worked with or engaged with.
3. Anonymity
Reviews are published anonymously. Platform does not display your name, email, role specifics beyond what you choose to share, or any identifying data alongside your review. Anonymity is offered in good faith to protect workers; it is not a licence to defame, harass, or lie.
4. Honest, factual reviews
You agree to be truthful and accurate. Reviews should be based on your own experience and expressed fairly. Do not include knowingly false statements, exaggerations intended to mislead, or claims you cannot stand behind. Opinions are welcome; falsehoods are not.
5. What you must not post
You must not post content that is defamatory, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or that invades anyone's privacy; content containing confidential or non-public information; or content that breaches a contract or NDA in a way prohibited by law. Do not name or identify specific private individuals.
6. Defamation and legal responsibility
You, not Platform, are legally responsible for what you write. Under UK law, reviewers can rely on honest opinion and the public-interest defence where applicable, but malicious falsehood or reckless allegations may expose you to legal action. Platform may remove content where it appears to be unlawful.
7. Moderation
Platform reserves the right to remove, hide, or edit reviews that breach these terms, that contain prohibited content, or that are reported and found to breach this policy. We may also collapse or group reviews where appropriate. Moderation decisions are made at our discretion and are not subject to appeal of outcomes, though reports of factual error will be reviewed.
8. Ratings
Ratings cover Experience, Access, Pay, Values (equity, equality & diversity), Working Conditions, and Health & Safety. Aggregate scores shown on Platform are averages of submitted ratings and are indicative only. They do not represent an endorsement or audit by Platform.
9. Adding new companies
If a venue or company is not listed, reviewers may add it when posting. Added entries should be accurate and use the entity's correct name and location. Platform may merge, rename, or remove directory entries for clarity or accuracy.
10. Use of the service
Platform is provided free of charge for community use. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee that listings, scores, or content are complete, current, or free from error.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Platform is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on reviews or ratings, or from the use of the service. The service is provided on an 'as is' basis.
